Although the wedding day is all about the bride and her dress, you too, have to look dashing. You want to make sure that you are looking your best on your special day. Before you take a trip to your local formalwear store, sit down with your bride-to-be and find out what style will best suit your wedding. There are no strict rules to wedding attire, however your wedding’s formality should be taken into consideration when selecting your suit. For instance, an evening ceremony calls for a tuxedo, while a suit may be more appropriate for an afternoon affair.
Once you have determined your look you will have to decide whether you will buy or rent your suit. If you are opting to wear a classic black tux, I highly recommend that you purchase it. You can have it tailored to fit you and you’ll be able to wear it well after your wedding ceremony has taken place.
If you don’t know how to properly don a cummerbund or tie a bow tie, be sure to have the sales associate show you. Make sure you get all of your accessories: shirt, cummerbund or vest, tie or ascot, cuff links, shoes and socks.
Keep in mind that you have to dress your boys as well. Most of them will rent their tuxes for your big day. It works better for everyone if all the tuxedos are rented from the same place, but if some of your guys are not local, be sure they go to a formalwear store to get properly measured. Don’t forget about your little guys either. Most stores offer discounts for ring bearer suits as well.
